We invite you to come get to know our community and landscape in the beautiful South Toe Valley - the base of the stunning Black Mountains- tallest on the east coast!

Talented South Toe-area chefs utilize the freshest ingredients from Open Ridge and other local farmers to create a casual, family-friendly dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.  Dinners are four-course in our outdoor dining space, and vegetarian is always an option.  You don't have to bring children with you, of course, but it's "Family Friendly" because adults can enjoy sharing time together within eyesight and earshot of their children who can run freely in the field alongside the gardens.

Children are welcome to eat with the adults, though ticket would be full priced.  Kids ticket includes farm fresh veggies and dessert, as well as grilled cheese or the like - provided in their own food tent.

Prices for each meal depend on what is offered: Whole Trout, Chicken, or Vegetarian.

Supporting Local Community

*We sincerely appreciate your support of our rural community - farmers, chefs, artists, friends and neighbors involved with the dinner will all benefit.  In addition, we will also donate 10% of proceeds to local non-profit, Dig In! Yancey Community Garden, which helps to ensure healthy food is available for all in our community.

Dig In! Yancey Community Garden

"At the Dig In! garden we grow and give away tons (literally) of vegetables each year. Volunteers do the majority of the work with help from two staff.  All crops are grown using sustainable methods.  Community partners help distribute what we grow to those who have difficulty providing enough food for their family.  We believe that working together, everyone eats."

Summit to Supper!

The second annual! We are so fortunate to share a border with hundreds of acres of protected forest, leading directly up to the sacred Black Mountain range.  This hike and dinner will be one to remember!

Jona will be your hiking guide.  He has spent many years of his life hiking long trails: The AT, the PCT, the CDT, the Vermont Long Trail, Tahoe Rim Trail, Mountains to Sea Trail... this man loves to walk in the wilderness!  He will be in front, and another friend in the back, to ensure the group all makes it down safely.

Folks will meet at the farm and be driven up to the top of Mt. Mitchell, via the Blue Ridge Parkway.  From the Spruce Fir Forest on the highest peak east of the Mississippi, we follow the crest of the Blacks, up and down, over to Big Tom.  From there we begin our descent down Buncombe Horse Trail.  After about 4,00feet elevation drop, we arrive hungry at the farm for an incredible four course Farm to Table dinner celebration.

This is not an easy hike.  It is about 8 miles, with some climbs, and lots of downhill.  You will want to save your day for this event, as we will leave the farm mid morning.

This event is limited to 15 people. Price includes transportation from farm to Mt. Mitchell, guided hike (camaraderie, hilarity and awe, for sure), and a four course Farm-to-Table dinner cooked by Chef Aaron Tidwell.  All dinners are BYOB. Please send us a note if you are vegetarian.
